Atleast the life of 16 people has been claimed by a terrible road acccident that happened in kano state.
Reports say that 11 other people suffered varying degrees of injury in the accident, which occurred at Gwarzo-Kano road.
The victims, who were family members of the former managing director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Halilu Getso, were on their way to a naming ceremony when the accident happened.
Sources disclosed that the driver of the car might have been drunk and lost control when it approached the truck.
Mallam Aminu Usman, the Kano state commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the accident and added that the bodies of the dead, mostly youths, had been evacuated and buried according to Muslim rites.
