She has sold 41 million albums, is worth about $120 million. She has topped the charts with 13 No. 1 singles, but Rihanna says she's just beginning to appreciate her success.
T Magazine recently had an interview with Rihanna and she spoke about everything from success, to Instagram, to men.
Speaking with T Magazine, The New York Times Style Magazine, Rihanna said:
"Only now are things hitting me, like I'm feeling them emotionally. I used to feel unsafe right in the moment of an accomplishment — I felt the ground fall from under my feet because this could be the end. And even now, while everyone is celebrating, I'm on to the next thing. I don't want to get lost in this big cushion of success."
On how she stays in touch with fans? Instagram:
"Yeah, [I post the photos]. That's the only way it'll actually work! My fans can sniff the BS from very far away. I cannot trick them."
It will be remembered that the Barbadian singer was once banned from Instagram for posting revealing photos.
On the type of guys that turn her own, she said:
"I'm turned on by guys who are cultured. That'll keep me intrigued. They don't have to have a single degree, but they should speak other languages or know things about other parts of the world or history or certain artists or musicians. I like to be taught. I like to sit on that side of the table."
But it doesn't look like she's looking for a relationship now as she said:
"Guys need attention. They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I'll give it to my family, I'll give it to my work — but I will not give it to a man right now."
